Two French doctors have been accused of racism after suggesting vaccines against  coronavirus  should first be tested on people in Africa. The comments were made on the French television channel LCI, during a discussion about Covid-19 trials set to be launched in Europe and Australia to see if the BCG tuberculosis vaccine could be used to treat the novel disease. Head of intensive care at Paris Chochin Hospital, Jean-Paul Mira, said Africa would offer better testing conditions.  ‘If I could be provocative, shouldn’t we be doing this study in Africa, where there are no masks, no treatment, no intensive care, rather as was done with certain studies on AIDS, where things are tested on prostitutes because it’s known that they are highly exposed (to HIV)?’  he said.
